[ oh, right, yeah. the reason she brought up her outfit is because she thought it was... different, somehow, because they spent the night singing to each other. but this is a good reminder of where she stands with dave - it was silly to wonder if this outfit was any different from the others or if dave meant anything by it. jade looks down and realizes the crop top was a dumb idea. she's braving the cold for a figment of her imagination. dave does nice things for his friends all the time!

anyway theres no reason to be bummed? he's spending time with friends and that means she is dave's friend and that is the best she can hope for. she really doesn't mind if dave does things with his friends, and in fact, she's glad for it! (this is actually not something jade is simply telling herself, but the truth, comically enough.)
