swing my heart across the line. ☆ Anastasia, born to her Japanese mother and Russian father, was given her incredibly dramatic and very fairytale name by her father.
☆ When Anya was still a baby, her father passed away in a tragic hiking incident. As a result, her mother's parents came to take care of the new mother and their darling granddaughter. ☆ Their household would consist of Anya, Anya's mother, and her two grandparents until Anya reached the age of 10. At that point, her grandparents realized that the business of the city didn't suit them and moved a few towns over. ☆ When they lived together, Anya's grandparents would always praise her talent for the arts, which is why she took up ballet and choir in the first place. ☆ Now Anya is often scouted, most often for modeling but occasionally she's approached for performing, however she turns it down. She doesn't want to lose any more time with her mother and family, preferring a simple and pragmatic life. ☆ Because Anya's mother is still terribly in love, their home is still full of pictures of Anya's late father, whether it's his young love with Anya's mother or holding his infant baby girl before he passed away. ☆ Anya has a ragdoll cat that's been with her family for 5 years now. His name is Polaris, courtesy of Anya who is definitely enough of a nerd to name her cat after the North Star. He's a ridiculously cuddly and affectionate pile of fluff. ☆ Anya's mother currently works as a nurse. After Anya's father passed away and her maternal grandparents came to live with them, she spent a lot of time with them as her mother studied and pursued further education. Now Anya's mother keeps a busy schedule as a nurse to support them both - but it leaves Anya very independent. ☆ But they still make mother-daughter dates every week and they used to visit Anya's grandparents once a month since they've moved outside the city - though lately issues have arisen that have prevented that, whether it's sickness, bad traffic conditions, or poor scheduling. ☆ When Anya's father was alive, he worked within city government. He was well-liked and friendly to everyone he met and many thought it inevitable that he would eventually run for office. ☆ Picking up from what they've been taught, Anya and her mother regularly invite people into their home. Invitations to family dinner are frequent. ☆ That said, her mother not being home all that often does motivate Anya stay out longer, exploring the city. She doesn't like the empty house very much. ☆ This is probably how she's gotten to know so many bizarre people throughout the city - it's amazing that it hasn't quite bit her in the ass yet. However she has been taught self-defense just in case. |

lately i've been losing sleep. ❝ notable inventory ❞
☆ anya has somehow ended up with a small collection of gifts and trinkets from her friends that she'll keep and probably cherish forever, including: ✧ moon keychain (to match with jade wolf's sun)❝ hobbies ❞ ☆ Since she was 6, Anya's been formally enrolled in ballet. As soon as she could be part of a choir, she did that too. Her range is still developing but she's currently a mezzo-soprano. ☆ She's dabbled into modern, ballroom, and hip-hop styles but never for more than a workshop - she likes trying new things but doesn't tend to pursue them. She'll stick to what she knows forever if you let her. ☆ She hasn't auditioned for a damn thing in her life. ☆ She has a weakness for music boxes and always needs someone to talk her out of buying one. Still, she lingers and winds up every single one she finds and never leaves until the winding is finished. Obligatory reference drop here. ☆ Watching someone do something over and over again helps her mimic them. But she struggles to develop anything original because she's the fucking worst at making decisions. Never ask her to choreograph or compose anything, she'll just pout into eternity. ☆ She'll listen to any type of music. Any. Ever. Screamo and Metal hurt her ears but if someone wants her to listen to a song, she'll do it. That said, she does prefer classical music and can be caught humming musical numbers and pop hits to herself. ☆ Tried cheerleading for a hot second but her schedule (and... energy level) couldn't sustain it. She still has the pompoms though. ☆ The ceiling of her room is filled with pictures of stars that she's ripped out of magazines or bought actual photos of. She finds little glow in the dark stars charming but they trip her up because they don't belong in actual constellations. ☆ She's not very skilled at photography, but she does want to learn so she can take better pictures of the stars. ☆ If she were to discover a star, she'd name it after her late father. ☆ When she has absolutely nothing else to do, she people watches. And she might subconsciously start mimicking the people that she watched. ❝ school ❞ ☆ Excels in the sciences, the closer to astronomy the subject gets then the more advanced Anya is in her understanding because stars. She does advanced independent study of the stars on her own. ☆ Naturally ambidextrous and always chooses which hand to write with to make sure she doesn't bump into anyone else. ☆ Has an interest in Russian history just because she wants to have a better understanding of it - she writes letters to her grandparents in Russia telling them what she's learned. ☆ Her locker is full of more pictures of stars and friends, space magazines, textbooks, and the bag that she takes with her to dance practice since she goes right after school lets out. ☆ She has a stunning memory and learns easily, which makes her an above average student by sheer natural ability. It's her critical thinking skills that aren't very well-developed. ❝ crosscanon ❞ ☆ The Chuuya Saga ( doublesmall)✧ Thanks to her favorite angry uncle knowing martial arts, Anya was taught self-defense after he realized that she took to wandering around by herself when it got dark.☆ Miwa the Siscon ( meweh)✧ She loves telling people the story about Miwa's first kiss. (He forgot to breathe and passed out.) She thinks it's really cute and endearing and not at all shooting him in the foot.☆ miscellaneous: ☆ Anya's Snapchat Story consists almost entirely of snaps of other people doing silly or embarrassing things because she thinks it's cute and needs to be documented. The more time you spend with her, the more ammo she has. |

☐ say something in russian that she's embarrassed to repeat in english ☐ when will anya want to be an idol again ☐ run a series of dating/friendship ads for her friends (it's begun) ☐ just start adding -nya to the ends of sentences because she doesn't know how to be cute ☐ go on a date that she actually thinks is a date (as opposed to just agreeing to something that sounds like a date and then ignoring it... anya....) ☐ a prom asking!!! hell she can do the asking, she's okay with that ☐ challenge her to a game of ddr I dare you ☐ anya getting? competitive over something? is this even remotely possible ☐ making a homemade meal for her friends (borscht is her specialty!) ☐ admit out loud that she gets lonely easily ✓ a sleepover!! with gossip and nail painting and hair braiding and not really doing any sleep at all (jade's the best) ☐ a sunrise/sunset hike to somewhere! what a cliche teen thing, but it's necessary ☐ sprain her ankle or sustain some kind of injury so she can actually realize that dance is important to her personally, not just something to fill time or see friends ☐ gossip about someone in a foreign language so that they can't understand even though they're in the same room ☐ dance battle ☐ serenade someone.... c'mon this'd be really cute let me live ☐ learn how to compose or choreograph something ✓ someone get angry at her, please get angry at her because she's absolutely a menace (of course it was yuri) ☐ what if she got into a verbal argument with someone, am I hoping for too much here ☐ puppy crush ☐ sitcom stakeout episode to follow one of her friends (on a date? to figure out a secret? tbd) ☐ can i drop this reference somewhere ☐ learn first aid because all of her caretakers are murderers and thugs ☐ actually feel so strongly about something that she cries ☐ someone take advantage of anya's naivete and trusting nature, please, the opportunity is so real ☐ mimic someone's speech patterns which includes swearing and scandalize everyone ☐ some situation where she needs to throw her heels at someone do I have context? no. do I still need it? yes. ☐ embarrass anya before she embarrasses you for once ☐ test of courage ☐ regain her bridal outfit and proceed to freak out for the next 30 minutes about how to absorb this information ☐ regain an idol outfit and be stuck running around in it for a day |
