[ Mao didn't think going back to life as usual would be as awkward as it's proving to be, but just going back to school like nothing happened, like he wasn't just somewhere completely else for a month, is unexpectedly unsettling. It's like he didn't even have time to unpack what happened before going back to his routine and as much as he'd like to just take refuge in that routine, the disconnect is making him antsy. He doesn't really want to talk about it with the people he went with though, since they were there, and he really doesn't want to talk to certain other people about it.
Which isn't to say Anya's his last choice by a long shot. Even with the communication still being up and working, he's missed her, and they haven't really gotten to talk since before the live. Considering how successful it's been the last two times he's tried it, he's at her door now with a grocery bag and a generous dose of optimism that she's not already busy. ]
[With luck, she's not busy - rather she's been trying to lay low this month. Still, she's not expecting visitors so he'll have to forgive the initial look of confusion on her face as she opens the door - because it's immediately traded for delight as her entire expression lights up upon seeing him.]

[ For a second he's concerned--maybe he should've called or planned this better?--but then that familiar expression of happiness appears on Anya's face and he can relax... which is a good thing because here she comes!

[She clings onto him, pleased to find that there's no obvious injuries on his person either. She breathes out a sigh of relief at that, the sound of it mixed in with a laugh as she clings on.]
