Why?

[he frowns back!!!]

He's an idiot. Trust me, I've checked.

[GIVE HIM STRENGTH,,,,,,

he actively presses one hand against his own forehead, eyes closed, and shakes his head.]

The Greatest Mammon? More like the greatest moron...

[but before she can say anything in rebuttal, he exhales, and opens his eyes, meeting hers.]

...Fine. He's more than an idiot.

We can at least agree on that.

[mysterious! but he's already moving on.]

As long as you have someone.
getdrekt: (where your soul should be)

[he's obstinate about this for multiple extremely good reasons

in any case, huffs an exhale of a sigh, and swings his legs over the side of the bed, leaving Anya with the tray.]

You're naive—or maybe, you're pointedly ignoring everyone's negative traits in order to get along with everyone instead. Naivety can be positive.

[he talks as he walks over to the chaise to pick up the book he was reading—and another, underneath of it, flipping through the first to recover his spot.]

You know we don't need to eat, yet you took time to cook something and bring it to me—undoubtedly to others, too. [you? made?? cookies???] You make friends with everyone, and dote on them.

But I'm starting to get the feeling that it's more for your benefit than for theirs. As if caring for others is your hobby—a kind of stress relief from, this place.

[he flips the book open. it's to the moon landing, people walking out. one small step etc.]

Tell me about space.

[. . .

what the fuck is an idol

but, well, the general idea is there, even if it's.......... ridiculous? it sounds like someone pumping out princesses as a profession, which is ludicrous? but ok. earth is absolutely bananas insane]

Who are you saying that for?

Me?

Or yourself?
getdrekt: (that need to get slew)

[personal profile] getdrekt 2020-03-20 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I was that far off base.

[but,]

My... what?
getdrekt: ('Cause your words don't translate)

[personal profile] getdrekt 2020-03-20 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

...Not right now.

[he sits down, book still in hand.]

I think we'd both find space more interesting.
getdrekt: ('Cause your words don't translate)

[he looks at her for a moment—their eyes locking on each other, briefly—and he turns away, back to the book, shaking his head.

...

he rights the book.]

Your space. It's different to ours.

[...

he points to the sun, then gestures across the image.]

Our star is called Rem. Our planet, Auldrant, and our only satellite moon, Luna.

[looking over the small image of earth, he traces a finger around it in a loose oval.]

Around Auldrant is a ring of fon stones that comprise the fon belt.

That's all I'm aware of, for our system—but I can tell that our sky is different to here as well.

Fon stones are pieces of... [hm

does he really want to explain AULDRANT SCIENCE 101 to Anya? does she want that??]

...it doesn't really matter. Think of it as a debris field.

[stars...]

You charted them already?

...What do you mean, you named a constellation for me?
getdrekt: ('Cause there's a hole)

[THEN LORE HE SHALL GIVE]

Fon stones.

They're concentrations of solidified fonons. They form a floating, protective barrier around our planet. It's bizarre not to see them.

[he follows her, almost unconsciously, and props the balcony door open alongside her, peering out.]

It would be better if we were away from the manor. We would be able to see more, here.
