he's still. knocking. because if she's gonna bother him when he doesn't want to talk to anyone (which is, all the time,) he's definitely gonna get her back for it.
and that is why, after he knocks, he places a tray with one (1) bowl of pelmeni (they're not perfectly shaped, but it's his first time making what is apparently "Russia's national dish". they are accompanied with a dish of sour cream on the side), one (1) bowl of borscht (or at least, a hearty meat and vegetable soup with beets and cabbage present in it—who knows what recipe he was following), one (1) set of cutlery, one (1) glass, and one (1) pitcher of water, because who knows what she'd find comforting to drink, so............
naturally, this is all revenge for bothering him, and not because of any other reason.
after placing it down, he hovers for a moment—unsure how to proceed from here—then clears his throat.]
